Leftist Elizabeth Warren described her border visit where she experienced mothers whose children were separated from them after crossing the border. Of course her statement resonated with disgust by those with more compassionate hearts as she started off talking about the Molly Tibbetts murder and segued into her immigration mantra. Maybe if Molly had been of Native American Indian descent instead of white, Warren might have cared more?

Like local elections, every time the left wants more money for schools, or community sympathy for immigration or some other social policy – it’s always about the kids. And using kids as pawns in their political power play is nothing more than abusive and embarrassing for those who strive to understand the real issues at hand.

Confusing a controversial issue reliant on truth and facts is always best disguised with emotional tears and subtext. Something many on the left tend to do repeatedly.

It’s hard sometimes to know where their stance is. Of course it also swings pro or con based on the current sentiment of voters as to the immigration issue needs/benefits/compassions/legality and all-important election cycles.

The article below may seem somewhat like a history lesson however, the facts are true, the quotes accurate, and the information imperative to anyone who cares about true immigration happenings and the left’s treatment of the subject and subjects.

Immigration is a tough issue balancing the safety, economic and social needs of the country with compassion and realistic benefits from quality immigrants.

“America was indebted to immigration for her settlement and prosperity. That part of America which had encouraged them most had advanced most rapidly in population, agriculture and the arts.”

~James Madison

The left loudly touts their support of the poor, downtrodden, abused, asylum seeking immigrant when the camera lens from UniVision or a microphone from La Raza is nearby. But in the throws in accomplishing something through real legislation, the list of democrats attending the concept meeting seem to have thinned out a bit.

I find it disingenuous to care so much about children who were sent to this country without benefit of parental care and supervision, only to secure a foothold for the future, whining endlessly about children ripped from their parents arms (according to law), while caring nothing for the millions of unborn children torn from their mother’s bodies in the name of free choice. Have they no rights? They certainly now have no futures. But that’s a discussion for another time.

Trump tired to put together a deal to appease both sides but:

It’s March 5th and the Democrats are nowhere to be found on DACA,” Trump tweeted March 5. “Gave them 6 months, they just don’t care. Where are they? We are ready to make a deal!”

Americans know the value of the educated, prepared, socially advanced foreigners whose training would add to our fields of technology, medicine and industries requiring new and innovative ideas and skills. Skills brought from different cultures and backgrounds, when added to ours, bring out the best for all citizens and potentially the world.

But immigration has become a tool for recruiting a nice voter stream for the left. Bring in people from less advantaged countries, whatever their reason, give them  benefits, show “compassion” – even if with a feigned smile and an insincere pat on the back – and remind them in November who gave them their better life and opportunities; even if they still live 20 to a room and are totally dependant on the government teat for societal and monetary nourishment.

Conservatives care about people. We certainly care about our country. But there’s got to be a realistic view of both sides of the equation.

“We must fix our broken immigration system. That means stopping illegal immigration. And it means welcoming properly vetted legal immigrants, regardless of their race or religion. Just like we have for centuries.”
~ Nikki Haley

“We are dealing with the question of the 11 million people paying their taxes, having a path to legalization and, then, ultimately, to citizenship”
~  Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), as reported by The Washington Post:

Yes, it’s that dangling leftist carrot called “citizenship” that always tugs at the heartstrings of the immigrant to come here and have hope. Even if they have no skills, no knowledge of the language, no reasonable game plan for the future other than to get here and solidify their placeholder for future immigrant siblings and children.

And the cost benefit to the US?

In 2017, FAIR’s “The Fiscal Burden of Illegal Immigration on United States Taxpayers” report put the total cost of illegal immigration at $135 billion a year, while claiming undocumented immigrants paid only $19 billion a year in taxes. That leaves a net cost to local, state and federal governments of $116 billion a year.

The answer being NIL, NOTHING, ZIP, ZERO, NADA. This makes a $20, $30, $50 billion wall look like a great monetary investment for America not counting  safety issues.

The annals of newspaper depositories are replete with long lists of deaths caused by illegal immigrants. Including Arizona’s own Law Enforcement officer Sgt Mendoza,  killed by an illegal driving the wrong way on the freeway. And Kate Steinle or now, Mollie Tibbetts and hundreds of other citizens who fell under the deadly wrath of the left’s immigration passionate project.

The crimes committed and repeated fill file cabinets of felons deported and redeported time and time again but who refuse to obey our laws – both immigration and regular laws of society.

The numbers of illegals bounces like a basketball at an LA pick up game.

FAIR estimated that there are roughly 12.5 million undocumented immigrants in the country.

According to the latest Pew report, April 2017, there were, in 2016, 11.3 million undocumented immigrants in the country.

The Center for Migration Studies, which advocates for migrants, released a survey that estimated the population at 10.8 million in 2016.

Spencer Raley, research associate and co-author of the FAIR report, said the difference in the estimates comes down to how many people were not counted in the U.S. Census’ annual American Community Survey.

No matter how many are here or not here remains in flux but, the fact remains that many are not the citizens we want to inhabit our land. Many are not only unqualified for the coming technological changes to industries but are in fact criminals bent on personal power and wealth through drugs and human trafficking.

From the L.A. Times.

1. 40% of all workers in LA County (10.2 million people) are working for cash; and not paying taxes. This is because they are predominantly illegal immigrants, working without a green card. (Donald Trump was right)
2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.
3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens..
4. Over 2/3 of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien Mexicans on Medi-Cal, whose births were paid for by taxpayers.
5. Nearly 35% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican
nationals; they are here illegally.
6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.
7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely illegal aliens from south of the border.
8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.
9. 21 radio stations in LA are Spanish- speaking.
10. In LA County, 5.1 million people speak English; 3.9 million, speak Spanish. (There are 10.2 million people, in LA County.
(All 10 of the above facts were published in the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops, but 29% are on welfare.
Over 70% of the United States ‘ annual population growth, (and over 90% of California , Florida and New York ), results from Immigration. Also, 29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

But the left feels that pandering to the masses of border crossers will lead to a tantalizing treasure trove of steady stalwart supporters ensuring decades if not generations of liberal control.

And the effect of immigration on the black population?

In general, the beneficiaries of non-immigration enforcement are working-class blacks, who are often passed over for jobs by unscrupulous employers.

The actual labor force participation rate (LFPR) for adult black men has declined steadily since the passage of the 1965 Immigration and Nationality Act, which ushered in a new era of mass immigration. In 1973, the rate was 79 percent. It is now at 68 percent, and the Bureau of Labor projects that it will decline to 61 percent by 2026.

An Obama’s White House 2016 report acknowledging that “immigration does not help the labor force participation rate of the native-born.” It concluded, however, that “immigration reform would raise the overall participation rate by bringing in new workers of prime working age.”

Seems strange in that the economy at the time was shrinking, jobs disappearing, unemployment rising, LFPR declining, welfare rising and they admit immigration doesn’t help and yet.. overall participation rate would rise with bringing in new workers? No wonder we had such dismal economic management during the Obama years.

Although the report used the term “new workers,” Democrats may also be tempted by the prospect of new voters. But they should be aware that in courting one group, they risk losing others.

African-Americans tend to be a reliable voting bloc for the Democratic Party, but they have repeatedly indicated in public opinion surveys that they want significantly less immigration.

The effects of Trump’s economic policies, and attempts at actually improving lives of the black communities, has more than doubled his favorability rate to 36%.

A recent Harvard-Harris poll found that African-Americans favor reducing legal immigration more than any other demographic group: 85 percent want less than the million-plus we allow annually, and 54 percent opted for the most stringent choices offered – 250,000 immigrants per year or less, or none at all.

Harvard economist, George Borjas, found that between 1980 and 2000, one-third of the decline in the employment among black male high school dropouts was attributable to immigration. Also reported was “a strong correlation between immigration, black wages, black employment rates, and black incarceration rates.”

Notre Dame University professor Stephen Steinberg reported in a 2014 paper on neoliberal immigration policies that, thanks to the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1965, “African-Americans found themselves in the proverbial position of being ‘last hired.”

In 2005, a left-leaning blogger, Glenn Greenwald, wrote, “Illegal immigration wreaks havoc economically, socially, and culturally; makes a mockery of the rule of law; and is disgraceful just on basic fairness grounds alone.”

In 2006, a liberal columnist, Paul Krugman, wrote that “immigration reduces the wages of domestic workers who compete with immigrants” and that “the fiscal burden of low-wage immigrants is also pretty clear.” His conclusion: “We’ll need to reduce the inflow of low-skill immigrants.”

That same year, a Democratic senator wrote, “When I see Mexican flags waved at pro-immigration demonstrations, I sometimes feel a flush of patriotic resentment. When I’m forced to use a translator to communicate with the guy fixing my car, I feel a certain frustration.”

The senator… was Barack Obama. My, how his tune has changed key.

Leftists love to throw blame while diverting from the facts. Among those who recently took notice of children being separated and housed at a Texas facility was Jon Favreau, Obama’s former speechwriter. In a now-deleted tweet, Favreau wrote: “This is happening right now, and the only debate that matters is how we force our government to get these kids back to their families as fast as humanly possible.”

The problem was, that the photos and information were from 2014… during Obama’s watch.

The true left wants everything for everyone and getting votes is the purpose and immigration is the pathway to an obscured objective.

“Yesterday they pushed two bills, one that would require the Department of Homeland Security ‘make sure illegal immigrants don’t receive Medicare, Social Security or food stamps.’

So, you have the President making an affirmative step, and you have Republicans in the Congress that are continuing to go after a very, very regressive kind of policy on human levels. We talking about Social Security, Medicare, food stamps. We talking about people that need help here.”

Liberals don’t think like most Americans. The latest Rasmussen poll is out. American voters — by a landslide — blame illegal alien parents for the border crisis over family separations, not President Donald Trump or the federal government. By a margin of 54 percent to 35 percent, the American people blame the parents.

Mr. Trump’s harsh immigration policies build on restrictions already in place. But taken together, they add up to a drastic departure from the norms of American politics under other recent administrations

Mr. Obama’s detaining of immigrant children, by contrast, felt like a a mosaic of social ideals wrapped in a confused collection of legal concepts.

The Trump administration does in fact have a new policy of prosecuting all undocumented border crossers, which involves separating parents from their children. But the 1,475 children whom the Department of Health and Human Services recently reported it cannot locate are not among those taken from their parents. These “missing” children had actually come to the United States without their parents, been picked up by the Border Patrol and then released to the custody of a parent or guardian.

Yes, immigration is an interesting, yet problematic puzzle, but not a tough one to solve.

We’re a sovereign nation. We have borders. We have the right to secure those borders for the sake of protecting our citizens; from both terroristic and economic contamination and destruction.

We’re a compassionate nation, caring about many people from many lands, however, as selfish as it may seem, if we don’t look out for ourselves first – we’ll have no capacity to help others in the future.

Wanting to flood our country with illegals (and that’s what they are) who cost us billions a year to support, just so you can secure their vote for your America damaging policies is not acceptable to those who work and live and strive to produce in our great country.

Personally, I’m not a racist. I couldn’t care less what race, religion, sex etc anyone is. All I expect is that people live by the rules (and laws) and do what they can to make the country, even the world, a better, safer place. And the end result? We all have a better life.
