In 2008 I promised myself I would never listen to B. Hussein O give a speech. Call it a feeling, a premonition, foresight but I knew that he’d be lying…because his lips would be moving.

Over the years he proved my assumptions correct. Whether it was not keeping my doctor, keeping my plan or saving money; or his declarations that he couldn’t “do that,” but then he did “do that” with an executive order; his denying white voters their justice at the hands of black panthers in PA days after taking office; his illegal actions in fast & furious covered up by executive privilege; or decades in association with a black separatist church and the likes of Farrakhan, Ayers and Dohrn laying his foundation for social justice and revenge. I just felt I never wanted to listen to someone whose life was dictated by his associations with the SDS, ACORN, the New Party or the radical rules of people like Alinsky and Cloward and Piven.

His desire, his goal to fundamentally change a great country didn’t ring sensible to me so I avoided the media contact for 8 years. Instead of SOTU speeches, toothbrushing my driveway or bikini waxing my cat seemed a more productive use of time.

Then came Donald J. Trump. Not a politician, not a Messiah, but a messenger carrying, and willing to heed, the wishes of the American populous. A man not motivated by political power, but fully aware that as a businessman – a citizen – if you don’t produce, you don’t succeed, you don’t eat. This SOTU was a recap of the undeniable successes he’s had in meeting his mandated goals.

All the grandeur and majesty of the moment was framed by the House Chamber as Americans made note of our progress as a nation. For all the normalcy one might expect in this annual event, this one seemed especially poignant and positive.

The Joint Chiefs were decked out in their uniforms adorned with their shiny stars and stripes. Their subtle authoritative smiles bespeaking the confidence that Trump had their backs – and their budgets. They showed the pride of military leadership as Trump and America acknowledged the heroics of WWII veterans. One could almost hear the Liberty bell ringing from the halls of Philadelphia.

And the country went further to celebrate the courage of a 10-year-old cancer survivor and wounded SWAT officer defending against a shooter at a Pennsylvania synagogue. The American spirit lives!

I thought for a moment that Versace had made a fashion donation to liberal ladies’ choir. I waited in wonder to see if they were going to take the stage with a united aria of protest. Their conductor stood out like a creamsicle against the opposition backdrop of the moment. Her standing stance and paper shuffling, like a graduate of the 9th-floor steno pool while mumbling to herself – or someone imagined, seemed distracting. Their collective color choice suggested confusion given their activism against white privilege and imagined conservative racism.

The Supreme Court made a slim majority decision to not show up. Their quiet sounds of silence mixed with “where’s Ruthie” wafted through the halls as 5 of the 9 had other plans that night – the sweeping camera shots of SCOTUS not to be seen.

The division of the country and the political parties was on full blatant display, as evident as the carpeted aisle separating the leather seats. Anyone questioning those who care about America and its future, and those that don’t – just need to look at who is standing and who is stoically sitting, expressing their reticent protest of disdain for this president and our country.

The black hearts of liberalism were laid open for all to observe as their leadership, and supposed future candidates denied Trump’s verbal truths; refused to participate in the celebration of America; tacitly made known their true intentions for us should they ever gain complete rule over us. Make no mistake that the Sanders, Harrises, Gillibrands, WarrensOcasio-Cortezs and Bookers of the left have no interest in bettering this country. They will have no positive reports for their SOTU appearances.

In true Trumpian form, DJT seemed to delight in pulling the strings of the audience. He played the liberals like a fiddle garnering standing ovations and long periods of hand-clapping accolades sure to be fodder for Republican campaigns in the 2020 experience.

One would have to consider if Nancy’s and Chuckie’s applause for Trump’s stand against Socialism in America will come back to haunt them as their progressive movement to the left continues its slide to that socialistic pit.

The truths, the facts, the reality of the lowest unemployment numbers of all times, the growth of the economy, the success of our energy program, the increasing wage levels all attest to the success of clear, non-partisan, rational thinking and planning. For this writer, does the increasing debt and deficits bother me? Yes, and they need to be addressed quickly. But in contrast, the implementation of $7,000,000,000,000 of free stuff and social programs will never provide stability for the country nor satisfy the power pangs of the left.

For now, we live the benefit of the Trump effort, the results of hard-working Americans, the rewards of freedom, and as is always exclaimed – God Bless America.
